Annual Toy Run from East Coast Cruisers Club House, Pineville Junction in Pinetown to Toti Civic Hall next to the river. Flea Market, food stalls, entainment etc etc. Meeting time 08h00 for 09h00 convoy drive to Toti. Cost to enter, BRING A KIDS TOY to donate to Charity. Organised by Toti Lions and East Coast Cruisers.

Bassett’s Back Yard
A family outing with an easy trail in the plantation behind Peter Bassett’s house in Pietermaritzburg followed by a BYO braai and social afternoon. Meet Selwyn at the Petrol Garage on the N3 before Cato Ridge at 08h00 for 08h30 depart. For those driving from PMB give Peter a call for directions to his “back yard”.

Shongweni

Valley

A trip to two Waterfalls in the Shongweni Valley. An easy to technical drive along dirt roads and two track with a little mud, shallow water crossings, and a hill. Options for the brave to play while the rest drive around. Meeting place to follow.

LROC Jamboree

The LROC SA would like to extend an invitation to all members of the Kwazulu-Natal Land Rover Owners Club to join us at a National Jamboree from the 10-13 April 2009. 

The event will take place at Heron Cliff (Baviaans) in the Gamtoos Valley and is being hosted by the LROC PE Chapter. More info to follow.

Team Gates Challenge 16 November 2008.  Inchanga Valley

Directions :  From Durban take the N3 towards Pietermaritzburg and take the Hammersdale / Inchanga off ramp. Turn right across the N3 and follow the road for about 2km.  At the 1st road to the right (Land Rover Experience sign) turn right and follow the road past the Hotel and up to the R103. Turn right into the R103 (old main road) and we will meet on the left about 50m up the road.

Meeting time 08h00 to leave in convoy into the valley at 08h30 sharp. A byo braai for lunch.

 

Provisional format.

§         Teams of 3 standard vehicles and x1 modified vehicle. (Modified vehicles will be allocated to the standard teams via a "out the hat draw" )

§         Normal Gates rules and scoring. The scores for all team members will be added together to give a team score.

§         Team members will be able to offer advice from outside the vehicles but will not be able to touch the vehicle in the Gate. ( Other teams can offer useless advice !!)

§         Teams will be grouped in the various Land Rover chassis classes.

1. Leaf, SWB.   2. Leaf LWB     3. Coil SWB     4. Coil LWB    5. 100"(Rangie/Disco)    6. Mixed class

 

 

TRAIL GRADING All our events from now on will have a Trail Grading according to the 5 grades below.

  1. Complete novice soft dirt road trail, no low range required. Suitable for all Land Rovers including the Freelander.

  2. Limited low range required but suitable for the novice driver. Suitable for all Land Rovers with certain trails not suitable for the Freelander.

  3. Low range and limited off road knowledge required. Suitable for all Land Rovers except the Freelander.

  4. A low range technical trail suitable for the experienced. The inexperienced will be able to do the trail, as assistance will be available from the more experienced members. Suitable for all Land Rovers except the Freelander.
