23 Vehicle drivers signed the register with 13 entering the Gates Event in the light with 2 dropping out for the night section. The 10 gates were set up in record time, under an hour and we had 3 marshals on each gate. What a pleasure to be involved in an event like this that all are willing to get involved. Thanks to all who helped, those who took part in the challenge and the members who stayed until late to watch. The feeling was that we should do it again, but the next time the gates will be a little more challenging. An easy course was set this time to get the drivers use to the night section.
As can be seen from the scores above many did better in the dark. Well done.
Henry and Bruce’s TD5’s with traction control are the vehicles to watch. As soon as the vehicle starts to loose traction its clearly visible how the traction control takes over and pulls the Landy out of the obstacle. Need to add one to my wish list.
All did not end well as I managed to roll my Landy after the Gates Event. We took a drive up the valley and I crested a hill a little too close to the top edge and over she went, twice. No one else in the vehicle but myself and no injuries. The roof rack on my Landy acted like a roll cage and saved the top of the Landy. The only glass that broke was the windscreen.
